Community Development Block Grants (CDBG)

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement Program provides annual grants on a formula basis to entitled cities and counties to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities, principally for low and moderate-income persons.

The City through a partnership with the County of Humboldt offers loans for owner-occupied and owner-investor properties.  Loans and grants are available to achieve cost-effective repairs for low-income owner-occupied homes or for units occupied by low-income tenants of owner-investors jurisdiction-wide.
