Dog Park RFP Q&A

Thank you for looking over the RFP.  See our responses below.

1.  Are bids due December 29th (listed on cover page of contract documents) or January 10th (listed in proposed timeline as date of bid opening on page 6 of contract documents)?

The Bids are due December 29, 2023 before 3:00 pm.

2.  Is the proposed pole to be relocated owned by the city? If not, has the proper agency given the ok? Any fees involved?

The pole is owned by PG&E.  It is in the right-of-way.  We will be requesting that PG&E relocate the pole.  It appears there are no live utilities connected to it.

3.  For the proposed grading, are there any materials to be imported? Is the dog area to be graded? If so, which phase?

The dog area is not expected to be graded.  There may be minimal grading for the A1-8 curb.

4.  Is the chain link fencing around the dog area part of phase 1? If so, does all fencing require an A1-8 curb?

The chain link fencing around the dog area is a component of Phase I.  The A1-8 curb/mow strip is required for the fencing.

5.  Are all parking stalls, including the ADA stall, asphalt or concrete? Are there sections or details for either?

Asphalt. The structural section of the parking lot shall include a minimum of 0.2 feet of Caltrans Type B hot mix (asphalt) over 0.67 feet of Caltrans Class 2 compacted aggregate base.

6.  Is the 10” concrete retaining wall along the northeast property line proposed or existing? If proposed, which phase of the project?

The retaining wall, basketball court and landscaping are not part of Phase I.

7.  Elevations of proposed drainage inlets?

Based on the A1-6 curb and top of sidewalk elevation of 125.3’, the estimated top of northwest grate would be 124.7’.  I assume this elevation will determine the elevations of the other grates to ensure       adequate flows.

8.  Phase 1 limits not clearly defined on plan sheets.

     See below.

Dog Park Overview

9.  Plan scale for basketball court detail says .0700” = 1’?

      Strange scale.  It’s about 1/16” = 1’

10.  Will the City of Rio Dell be providing a water meter for this project? If not is there a current spec?

The City will be providing the water meter.

11.  Will the City of Rio Dell be responsible for the relocation of the Power Pole and associated services?

At this point is sounds like PG&E will be relocating the power pole.  However, we still would like a quote to relocate.

12.  Will the City of Rio Dell be responsible for supplying the trash and recycling cans?

The City will be providing the receptacles.  Contractor to provide concrete pad.

13.  Has the landscaping component of this project been removed, ie. Sod, topsoil, plants, and irrigation?

The landscaping has been eliminated from Phase I.

Have a Great Day!
